ThriveAgric Featured in London Business School’s Case Study Series on Agritech Innovation in Africa

Recently, the London Business School published a three-part in-depth case study that delves deeply into ThriveAgric's journey in pioneering sustainable agriculture and technology-driven solutions for Africa. This series provides an insightful narrative into our organization’s commitment to empowering smallholder farmers and creating a resilient, food-secure continent.

By capturing key lessons from our transformative approach, these case studies offer valuable perspectives for stakeholders, thought leaders, and investors engaged in agritech and economic growth in emerging markets.

The three-part series is structured to reflect critical milestones in our journey and provide insights into our strategy, execution, and scaling efforts:

  • Case A: "An Agritech Entrepreneurial Opportunity in Africa" – This first case illustrates ThriveAgric's approach to identifying and unlocking entrepreneurial opportunities within Africa’s agriculture sector. It explores how we strategically built a platform to bridge resource gaps for farmers, leveraging technology to connect them with essential inputs, financial resources, and markets.

This case provides a foundational look into our initial goals, market research, and mission to deliver agricultural innovation at scale..

  • Case B: "Entrepreneurship as Turnaround" – This second case details how ThriveAgric responded to critical challenges within the agritech ecosystem, demonstrating the organization’s agility and resilience in times of adversity. As a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, the business identified the need to pivot into a more suitable and sustainable financing model.

By examining our strategic pivots, this case offers insights into our approach to risk management, operational refinement, and stakeholder engagement to sustain impact under changing circumstances. The lessons in this case serve as a roadmap for navigating uncertainties in high-stakes environments.

  • Case C: "Growing the Entrepreneurial Business" – The final case explores ThriveAgric’s ongoing journey to scale its impact and expand reach across multiple regions in Africa. It highlights how we harness partnerships, employ digital innovation, and mobilize local expertise to drive enduring change in the agribusiness sector.

This case underscores our commitment to scalability and lasting agricultural transformation through technology and community-centered approaches.

Through these case studies, London Business School brings to light the complex dynamics of building and scaling an agritech venture in Africa, presenting ThriveAgric as a model for fostering sustainable, inclusive growth. The series emphasizes how our work contributes to broader food security objectives while enhancing smallholder livelihoods—a dual focus that we believe is essential for the future of agribusiness on the continent.

We invite stakeholders, investors, and partners to explore this series through The Case Centre and Harvard Publishing. These cases not only provide a rich learning tool for educational and professional audiences but also showcase ThriveAgric’s role in shaping the future of agritech in Africa.
