Rural Upskilling Program: Empowering Rural Talent for a Food-Secure Future

The Rural Upskilling Program (RUP), launched on April 4th, 2023, is a transformative initiative designed to empower young people and extension agents in rural Nigeria with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the agricultural value chain. The Why?

Guided by the mission to bridge the knowledge and skill gap in rural talents, RUP's vision is to upskill these individuals, ultimately creating an Africa that feeds itself and the world. Through comprehensive training programs and targeted skill development, RUP empowers participants to contribute meaningfully to the agricultural value chain, fostering self-reliance and economic growth.

Program and Curriculum:

Structured as a reputable onsite and online institute (ThriveAcademy), RUP provides robust and in-depth training across a six-month duration. The curriculum encompasses essential skills and knowledge for success in the agricultural sector, including:

  • Agronomy and Good Agricultural Practices: Equipping participants with the technical expertise for efficient and sustainable farming practices.
  • Basic Finance and Financial Literacy: Fostering financial management skills for informed decision-making and business growth.
