Project Background
Project, "Strengthening Farmers' Resilience Through Climate-Smart Grain Production and Accessing Structured Markets in Nigeria," is a long-term project whose goal is to support food security, increase resilience to climate change, and build market access for smallholder farmers in Niger State. Implemented in six LGAs - Bosso, Chanchaga, Gbako, Gurara, Lapai, and Paikoro - the project empowers 10,000 smallholder farmers through Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), agroforestry, and inclusive financial systems.
One of the core strategies of the project is the application of climate-resilient and renewable technologies to enhance productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and provide sustainable agricultural activities. The project, initiated by ThriveAgric with AGRA's support, calls for eligible partners to supply energy-saving and durable agro-inputs to farmer cooperatives in the six LGAs.
